My Favorite Things Monday! 4-18-2016

Image
Welcome Back to another "My Favorite Things" Monday!  Once again, queue the Julie Andrew's music!  I really wasn't sure what I should talk about today. At the moment I have coffee and books on my mind. .  Yesterday, while visiting my Mom in PA, I was able to finish a novel that I've been reading for . . quite a bit. And when I say quite a bit, I mean months. Months and months. I was actually trying to read this book back last summer - that's how "quite a bit" it's been.  As you learned last Monday, I'm a huge fan of Disney. If you missed that, you can find that post HERE.   Another way of enjoying fairy tales (if not through Disney) is books. Books have always been an escape for me, and thus - why I enjoy writing them so much as well. There is something about being able to be so absorbed in a world, with characters whom you feel so connected to - and facing their trials and tribulations.  I have spent a majority of my ...

Writing Wednesday: 4/13/2016

Image
Welcome to my first "Writing Wednesday." Now - I know it's not "Wisdom Wednesdays" like originally planned, but the reality of actually getting questions to answer, is - at the moment, slim to none. SO. To make this a little more fun for me, I thought about doing a "Writing Wednesday." I can share some of my unpublished writing - poems - etc. You can also request a theme for me to write about. But this is just a way of allowing you to see more than just "Allerleirauh" or "Seven Seeds of Summer." I could even show exclusive items from those published works! The sky is the limit in this case! For now, I thought to share the Epilogue of "Allerleirauh," which is not - at the moment - included in the novel that you can purchase on Amazon. I actually spent a lot of time contemplating an Epilogue but just never found the right ending. . Just as "Allerleirauh" was going on a book tour, I was inspired enough to f...

Book Tour!

Image
I had a great experience with my first book tour with "Bewitching Book Tours" - when I had just published "Seven Seeds of Summer." Now with "Allerleirauh," I felt it was even more important to do so with having no contacts, no sense of networking and really having no idea who to contact to get the book out to other readers and viewers. So, without further ado, You can find more information at Enchanted Book Promotions . I'm so excited, and I hope this helps to get "Allerleirauh" out to everyone! Keep tabs on "Allerleirauh" and the book tour! I'll be sure to post about it all that I can!

Mentors Matter: People of Importance

My Mom was the first person to really introduce me to the world of books and words. It was a great Saturday morning when she'd take me to the James V Brown Library in Williamsport, PA and together we'd embark on collecting as many books as my arms could carry and then she'd whisk me away to the quiet upstairs where covers of handsome men (bare chested at that) would be holding their beautiful woman - and would just leave me wondering what the stories were about.                My Mom really encouraged me to learn how to read - she even sat me down a few times to try to help me - and always allowed spontaneous visits to the library to happen. I think was a vital part of me writing/reading development. It helped that I had great teachers in Elementary school, who allowed our minds to wander when we were given a project of writing our own books - but it was really the support I had at home. ...

Flattering Reviews

Image
I feel really lucky to be having the ratings that I've received so far. I feel really, very lucky. This morning, after receiving another email from a review swap that I've been participating in - and seeing the wonderful words of encouragement, I looked up to the ceiling and closed my eyes and kept saying "See Dad? See?" I might have lifted my phone up too - just in case he wanted to see. But I guess, in a way - he does. I wished so much that I could call him and say "Dad!! I'm getting all of these really great reviews, see?" Where-ever you are today Dad - just know that I'm doing this for you.Because even if you're not here anymore on earth, I still feel want to feel your pride inside my heart. So, with that said -- if you haven't had a chance to read "Allerleirauh" please - I encourage you to take a chance. It's a fairy tale - something simple and nice. In the years of war and tribulation, people found solace in f...

From: Me -- To: You

Image
So, I've started a new novel -- or really, a novel that I've had going on for a while. Back about a year ago, I wrote my fiance a non-fiction/fiction version of our relationship. I think I really finally put down everything that I thought and felt and things that I really only knew. I've been wanting to write something that soft and fluffy and not really intense the way "Seven Seeds of Summer" is -- and the way "Allerleirauh" is.                       If you're not familiar, I would eagerly suggest to you, reader, to check them both out. Keep in mind that "Seven Seeds" is my first novel -- full of mistakes and cliche characters. I feel that "Allerleirauh" is at least something that I'm very proud of -- a lifetime's dream come true. I've always wanted to write a re-telling of the story, and I'm glad that I finally did. Now it's Roberto and I's tur...
