4 Reasons Why You Should Read Allerleirauh On August 22nd, Parliament House Press will release it’s first novel – “Allerleirauh.” It’s a fanciful and powerful retelling of a classic fairy tale. A king makes a promise to his dying wife that he'll only remarry a woman who possesses her golden hair. In time, the king's eyes are turned by his daughter. Realizing her father’s intentions, Princess Aurelia tries to trick him by requesting impossible gifts: dresses created by the sun, moon and stars, and a coat made of a thousand furs. But when he is successful, Aurelia sacrifices her privileged life and flees her kingdom, disguised by the cloak and a new name, Allerleirauh. She enters the safe haven of Saarland der Licht, where the handsome and gentle Prince Klaus takes her under his care. Welcome Back to another "My Favorite Things" Monday!  Once again, queue the Julie Andrew's music!  I really wasn't sure what I should talk about today. At the moment I have coffee and books on my mind. .  Yesterday, while visiting my Mom in PA, I was able to finish a novel that I've been reading for . . quite a bit. And when I say quite a bit, I mean months. Months and months. I was actually trying to read this book back last summer - that's how "quite a bit" it's been.  As you learned last Monday, I'm a huge fan of Disney. If you missed that, you can find that post HERE.   Another way of enjoying fairy tales (if not through Disney) is books. Books have always been an escape for me, and thus - why I enjoy writing them so much as well. There is something about being able to be so absorbed in a world, with characters whom you feel so connected to - and facing their trials and tribulations.  I have spent a majority of my ...

I had a great experience with my first book tour with "Bewitching Book Tours" - when I had just published "Seven Seeds of Summer." Now with "Allerleirauh," I felt it was even more important to do so with having no contacts, no sense of networking and really having no idea who to contact to get the book out to other readers and viewers. So, without further ado, You can find more information at Enchanted Book Promotions . I'm so excited, and I hope this helps to get "Allerleirauh" out to everyone! Keep tabs on "Allerleirauh" and the book tour! I'll be sure to post about it all that I can!

It's probably something that every writer kinda fantasies about. . . their novel becoming a movie. I've actually been thinking about this, only because I did the same thing with "Seven Seeds of Summer," so - I thought, what fun! I can do this with "Allerleirauh" too! Low and Behold - This is what I came up with! Top Row:   Mrs. Benson, Lord Crestwood, and Prince Klaus Middle Row: Aurelia Bottom Row:  Myriah, Lord Haven, and The King To be honest, William Moseley was a huge inspiration (from Peter Pevensie in Narnia) for Prince Klaus. When actually putting faces together, I thought twice about this at first, but he'll always be the real Prince Klaus to me. Mrs. Benson reminds me of Carlotta from "The Little Mermaid." Lord Crestwood is young and daring, and the Prince's closest friend. Lily James was truly another inspiration for Aurelia.. so I thought it only best to use her as well. Myriah is older than Aurelia, and more motherl...
